I'm not sure if I will posting information on how to rebuild your own shock. The instructions would span pages and pages and chances are very good that you would damage your shock in the process.
I have been professionally trained on how to service shocks and even I damaged the first couple of shocks that I rebuilt. I believe that a person with a good degree of mechanical ability could do it, but it may take a few tries before you get it right. And when you're working on your own shock, you don't really have a few practice shocks to mess up on.
The final reason why you may not want to rebuild your own shock is that often times special tools and equipment are needed to get the job done right. This means you would have to purchase/make your own tools, just to rebuild your shock once or twice. There are often a lot of subtleties involved in doing the rebuild that are hard to explain. In other words, some very small things can make a big difference.
If you would like a shock rebuilt, head on over to my service center at TheBrokenBike.com. Email me if you have any questions, I'll be glad to get back to you shortly (unless things get really busy, which they often do).
